We are proud to feature in our Art website a display, at all ability levels, of gifted artists from around the world, blessed with talent and the love of art, who exhibit their inspirational artwork, for sale, or simply for the pleasure of sharing it with       all of us. 

Where to exhibit artworks usually presents a practical problem to all artists.                                                                 As a newbarbizonARTist, you don´t have to go through a selection process to exhibit your artwork in our Art Gallery. No matter your ability and experience, you will be proud to display your art works together with works by artists around the world.

You can display any number of pictures 

There are no restrictions about the amount of pictures you can exhibit in your personal Art Gallery. If you want to start with just one or a couple of pictures, that´s OK! 

You don´t have to sell your favorite artworks 

If you do not want to sell your artworks, but still want to share them with others, it is enough to add «Not for sale» to your picture image.

We are not simply hoping that things happen for themselves. On the contrary, we will manage everything possible to give you every opportunity to promote and sell your art.

Art Salon and other art shows 

Art Salons and smaller-scale exhibitions, based on previously defined criteria suitable to each case, will be held by our Art Gallery whenever desirable to meet artists´ specific needs and convenience at no cost to them.                                 We invite you to take advantage of these newbarbizonARTgallery members-only exhibition events, in accordance with the conditions set up in due time for each particular event.  

Online auction sales 

Online Art Auctions are held from time to time sponsored by our Art Gallery.       You are free to decide whether you want to participate in those events. Have in mind that they give you the opportunity to sell your art work to the highest bid possible, starting from a minimum bid, which is up to you to decide.                     Conversely, our Art Gallery´s auctions are an opportunity to buy original art work at exceptionally affordable prices directly from the artists themselves.

Most artists tend to isolate themselves from the artist community, preventing themselves from a more notorious artistic recognition. Don´t do it!  Enjoying art – this is all you need to be our Member.

Exchange your artwork with a fellow artist

The old masters used to acquire works of art by fellow artists, directly from them, for their private collection. In fact, reputed painters were quite frequently the best buyers of fellow painters´ works.                                                                   In our website, we want to help you to find fellow artists to trade your art with. 

Barter – A good way of trading your artwork

Besides showing and selling your art, you may be inclined to exchange any of your artworks on display in your personal art gallery for another artist´s work without the use of money.                                     

This way, your works would be hung in homes eventually abroad, while you would be able to expand your name internationally. Moreover it would give you the opportunity to acquire works by artists from other places of the world, and start a rather unique and inexpensive private art collection.

How to make an exchange

Should you be interested in taking advantage of the bartering system, all you need is:

• Mark the artwork you want to make available for bartering in your personal art gallery with a note, «Bartering». You may add its selling price, if it is also for sale.

• Wait for a newbarbizonARTist to get in touch with you at your personal gallery and offers you any of his or her artworks in exchange for yours.

• Decide if you want to make the exchange that has been proposed to you, all duly considered.

Please be advised that any interaction with respect to barter conditions is solely between you and the other fellow artist.

Dear Fellow-Artist, 

Degas was very clear: «Painting is easy when you don´t know how, but very difficult when you do».                     And Picasso expressed the same thought in a different way: «Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up».                                      This is probably so because painting has some rules that an experienced painter is supposed to be knowledgeable about and follow through.                                       But then Goya was of the opinion that «there are no rules in painting»!                   Good gracious! Is it too late for them to agree on this simple issue?                               Well, for us at the newbarbizonARTgallery, we believe formal artistic education and painting rules are important, but please never let you feel too constrained by them in your creative endeavors!

Many painters think «style is everything».                                                               This is what Gauguin also seemed to have thought at a certain time of his career: «This year I have sacrificed everything, technique and color, to style».                   But Degas had a different idea about this issue: «I am glad I haven´t found my style yet. Restore the Meaning of Amateur Artist

Dear Fellow-Artist,

Very few words have been distorted from their original and true meaning as much as the word Amateur, which derives from the Latin Amatore, or Amator.    Consequently, art amateur should mean art lover, or someone who loves art. Instead, this was been changed throughout the time and can mean now, generally speaking, a defective and insufficient way of being an artist.                   I trust newbarbizonARTgallery will be able to instill into people´s mind the understanding that an art amateur is no more and no less than an art lover who, regardless of his or her ability and experience, has the right to be considered as a true artist.                                                                                                                  Please join newbarbizonARTgallery in our crusade to restore the meaning of amateur artist.                                                     Wishing you a happy Adventure in Art

To exhibit your art work in a personal gallery,  you need to be already our Member. If you are not a Member yet, please sign-up.  Learn more               

Prior to creating your gallery, you must read and follow our "Guidelines for transferring your pictures", below.                                                       

Then, please fill in the Form  underneath to let us know that you are about to send your images to us. 

Guidelines for transferring your pictures

• Only original artworks by yourself are allowed.

• Choose good quality digital images of your work.

• We recommend that the pictures must be no larger than a maximum of 1600 pixels x 1200 pixels, in JPG, PNG or GIF file format.

• We recommend that you number each work and provide a separate list with information concerning your profile and each picture, such as: title of work, type of support, medium, size and price.

• Follow as much as possible what is required below concerning "Personal Art Gallery content" and "Information to accompany each picture".

• You can choose to send your pictures separately on two or more occasions.

1.   Upon receipt of your Registration Form as a Member, (as per the instructions given in the MEMBERSHIP page) we will acknowledge  it and confirm to you our email address for you to send your pictures. 

2.   Select the pictures you want to display.                                                     

3.   Fill in the Form above, on this page, to let us know that you are going to transfer your pictures.                                                                              4.   Once your pictures have been duly received, we take personal care to upload them and create your Art Gallery. 

NOTE:  As soon as the uploading is complete and your Gallery created, you will be informed and asked to confirm that everything is to  your satisfaction.   

Personal Art Gallery content

We recommend you to include in your personal art gallery, besides your art works:

• A digital photo of yourself (optional)

• Your name (first and last name)

• Contact information to be used by visitors, which is up to you to decide. Alternatively, they are offered the possibility to fill in the Contact Form in your gallery page so that you can return to them

• Your biography, or resume (optional)

• Country of residence

You can also link it to your current external website, if any, as explained in the CONTACTS page.

Information to accompany each picture

• Type of support (Canvas, Carton, Paper, Wood)

• Type of work or medium in which the work was created (Oils, Acrylics, Watercolors, Pastels, Mix-media, Drawings, or Photography)

• Title of work (if any)

• Picture size

• Price (in USA Dollars, or in Euros) if the picture is for sale

Please be aware that the information required above is essential to allow visitors to make sure the artworks correspond to the type and features they may prefer or are actually looking for.

Choose your exhibition strategy 

You may use the following strategic ideas:

• Choose your preferred works and motifs.

• Decide carefully on the picture titles (if any).

• Establish fair and appropriate selling prices.

• Change the pictures in your portfolio whenever desirable.

• Share your own newbarbizonARTgallery URL address with potential buyers, and anyone who may be interested in your art work.

• Invite visitors to your gallery to post a comment on your work.

As our Art Gallery exhibitor, you are granted a formal certificate attesting that you are an international artist of newbarbizonARTgallery and run a personal Art Gallery in our website.    The certificate will be made available to you online for free, and you will be able to reproduce it in print.

Art work copyright

You should always register your art work with your national copyright office before start selling your art work online. Registered works provide substantial proof of ownership and more protection and benefits in the court of law, if someone uses your work without permission. Learn more

Artists´ rights and responsibilities 

• As a registered member of newbarbizonARTgallery, you have the right of submitting certain types of artist material, for display on your own personal gallery in our website. However, you must accept and follow the terms and conditions of our Art Material Uploading Policy.

• Participating artists and Site visitors may not upload or post any unacceptable content to newbarbizonARTgallery, namely obscene and illegal material.

• All information and images uploaded by artists must be art-related. We reserve the right to suspend, or terminate your participation in our website in case of unrelated material uploading.

• All artwork and images of art work uploaded and displayed on newbarbizonARTgallery ´s website must be an original art work created by the registered member.

• Ownership and copyright of all uploaded art work and text (including any resized and thumbnail images) are fully retained by the authors of the original art work.

• Reproduction, distribution or transmission of art work, any other materials and information data by a third-party, without prior author´s authorization, is prohibited.

• The artists have the ability, at their discretion and at any time, to remove any art work, content and text that they have uploaded or submitted to the newbarbizonARTgallery website. To completely remove their art work and close their personal art gallery in our website, the artists should contact newbarbizonARTgallery.

• The artists cannot create more than one account with a purpose of exceeding the maximum number of images per artist that is allowed for display in our website.

 newbarbizonARTgallery´s rights and responsibilities 

• We reserve the right to re-format or resize uploaded images down to various smaller image sizes (thumbnail images) but do not make any other changes to uploaded images or text. All rights granted to newbarbizonARTgallery for the use and display of an art work image also apply to the resized thumbnail images.

• By uploading art work images and other content to any public areas of the Site, the artists agree to grant newbarbizonARTgallery permission, as well as a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license, to transmit and publicly display their art work and other content on the Site, and to use their artist´ name for the purposes of display their artwork and promote, advertise and market our Site.

Communication means and rules 

• You agree to send and receive only messages and material that are appropriate for use and display through our website, and are in compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
